The most common trigger for those with asthma is the dust created by the house dust mite and this is concentrated in the fabric mattresses we all spend a third of our lives lying on top of.  

Like a growing number of those with the condition I get my mattress professionally cleaned every six months.  Sure beats worrying about the side effects of all those drugs!</description>
