Eva is the light of the party, any party in the entire area where we live. We just love to see her dance, sing and basically enjoy all the good things in life.

So, it definitely is a problem when she suddenly cannot attend a party unpredictably.

When we were young, we thought better of asking her as to why she suddenly disappeared from that particular party, or did not attend a party even after she had committed to do so.

Only after she married Ralph, a close cousin of mine, did we find out what she was living with all her youth without any need to do so – food allergies.

Eva was allergic to red meat, and having any kind of red meat would create rashes on her face and the next morning would be quite difficult.

Allergies are rapid and predictable medical situations that require immediate medical attention once they are evoked within the individual. The allergies are basically a disorder of the immune system that occur on an individual basis, triggered by coming into contact or being near environmental substances and objects that are otherwise harmless generally.

These objects and environmental substances can be almost anything. One of the most common allergies a person has in their lives is food allergies. Now, all of us loved Eva enough to ask a common question: “Can food allergies be cured or is it just a myth?”

With some research and medical help, we found out that food allergies are generally caused due to one’s adverse immune response to one of the many proteins found in food. This protein that triggers the actual allergy is called an allergen. The main reasons of food allergies are various toxin mediated reactions, food intolerance or other medical reasons.

People who have food allergies should be careful. If the food allergy is not taken proper care of, the repercussions are usually mild. But if these reactions are not taken care of, they may be quite serious and in rare cases, even fatal.

To cure food allergies, one should first understand the difference between food intolerance and food allergy. Mostly, if a person has had an unhappy experience having some kind of food, they think that they have an allergy to that kind of food, which is not so. Only about one percent of adults and about two percent of children actually have a clinically provable type of food allergy.

Food allergy is mainly caused due to three reasons, the immune system, hereditary aspect or it may be due to mechanism. When it comes to the immune system, the allergic reaction is caused due to the dual aspects of the immune system of the antibody called immunoglobin and the mast cell.

Immunoglobin circulates through blood and the mast cell is found in every tissue in the body. It is most common in the areas of the body that are most common for allergic reactions, like the lungs, skin, nose and throat. Therefore, the answer to the question, can be answered by paying more attention to these three reasons.

Food allergies are caused by the allergic reactions to some kinds of food, like yeast, wheat, eggs, milk, soy and corn.

The allergic reactions to these kinds of foods can appear within minutes or even after days of having eaten the object. While food allergies are not as dangerous as other allergies, they can quite hamper the social and personal life of anyone.

Food allergies can be cured with the common medical approach as well as the holistic approach of homeopathy.

In homeopathy, first the doctor tries to strengthen the immune system of the person so that even if the person is exposed to the deterrent food protein, the upcoming reaction is not as drastic as it normally would be.

Homeopathy takes a different approach to food allergies. While not eating the types of food that cause the allergy can be beneficial for the short term, homeopathic medicines strives to make it possible for the person to eat almost anything that they wish.

There are several medicines in Homeopathy, like Nux Vomica, Carbo Vegetabilis, etc, that can be administered to the individual in accordance with the type of allergies that they face. Therefore, Homeopathy can be the answer to the question.

When my son married his childhood sweetheart, it was something that all of us were looking forward to – a baby.

Because my son and his wife were so attached to us, they were quite against the thought of living away from us – let alone just a few blocks away.

Due to this, we were part and parcel of another life growing in our midst. We soon found out that this boy was quite strong and healthy for his age, and sometimes he even fought a flu that was all around the house or at least was affecting everyone of his age.

Of course, his father kept it to the strong genes that we all have, but his mother knew better. It was only during a coffee conversation that we found out about the benefits of exposing the baby to a pet may prevent future pet allergies.

All of us have different constitutions and health aspects. These constitutions are at the weakest during our childhood, the strongest during our youth and once again the weakest during our old age.

Quite simply put, the constitution of an old man will be such that he will have the greater chances of catching flu as compared to the constitution of a young man. When we are babies, our constitutions are in the honing up stage.

This early growing up stage is a very critical stage of our lives, because our strengths and weaknesses depend on what we are exposed to and how we lead our lives when we are very young.

Previously, it was considered that babies should not be exposed to pets, because pets are full of allergens and allergies that may cause a lasting effect on the baby.[pet dander]

However, new evidence shows that exposing the babies to such allergies early in their lives helps the body to build defenses against various medical situations like asthma attacks and various other allergies. Therefore, it can be said that exposing the baby to pet interaction may prevent future allergy.

Whether a person is allergic or not allergic to something depends on the immune system. The immune system is the most important aspect of the human body, because it is the immune system that first defends us against any kind of viral and other illnesses. If we have a weak immune system, we are more prone to have illnesses and diseases.

Growing up with pets, especially cats and dogs ensures that the immune system has the proper kind of work out that it requires before it actually begins to come into effect.

Therefore, if the babies are exposed to pets within the first two years of their lives, they may have a stronger immune system as compared to the other babies.

One school of thought is that houses that rear pets, like cats and dogs have more bacteria as compared to houses that do not have pets. If the bacteria component increases, it is known as endotoxin. Recent studies have suggested that if a young immune system is exposed to endotoxin, it grows in such a way that it can fight against various allergies better than other immune systems.

The studies have also shown that the immune system is more benefited if there are two pets in the house. However, one should understand that just because a baby may have a stronger immune system if they are around pets, it is not suggested that the pet should be present at all times near the baby or in the house. The best suggested timeframe is an hour before bedtime and an hour after as soon as the baby has woken up.

The aforementioned is scientific research that has been carried out over a period of time, which seems to prove that exposing a baby to pet may prevent future allergy.

Asthma has become very prevalent in our society. Experts believe that 1 to 2 percent of children develop asthma during their formative years.

My son has struggled with the problem for nearly 10 years and it is very hard on young people.

Some symptoms that you have to look out for are long bouts of coughing at night or early in the morning; you can hear a wheezing sound when your child is breathing out and also you can see that he is lazy and lethargic, not wanting to participate in games or other type of physical activities that your child used to enjoy.

However, studies have shown that fifteen to twenty percent of children that show the symptom of wheezing sound will not have chronic asthma. So what happens in an asthma attack? It starts with the swelling of mucus membranes in the airways and then contract.

With this, more mucus is being produced in the small airways, which make it very difficult to breathe and it becomes a struggle just to breathe. This is what produces the wheezing sound when your child is breathing out.

A lot of children are now suffering from panic asthma attacks. Most of them suffer from these because of the stresses that they encounter in everyday life.

We, as parents, think that our children are secure from all the problems that life is putting them through. We always thought that childhood is the most pleasant phase of one’s life; however, with the demands of every day life like their studies, peer pressure and all other things, the reality is extremely different from what we used to remember.

A lot of people that have asthma sometimes go on very long periods of not having an asthma attack.

They are the lucky ones. A lot of children keep on having very bad panic asthma attacks especially when they are feeling some intense fear.

Anxiety and fear are typically the triggers of panic asthma attack. It can be triggered by a test in school or just simple interaction with their peers.

Asthma can severely limit your child’s activities like sports. It can also destroy their self-confidence because not all children have problems with breathing. Asthma will severely disrupt the activities of your child and will actually limit all the things that he or she can do.

Living with asthma can be very difficult and challenging but if it is diagnosed early enough it can still be treated and help your child live a very active life. Creating a specific management plan that is focused on controlling your child’s asthma and preventing it from interfering with your child’s lifestyle will go a very long way.

You need to be able to change something in your child’s lifestyle and also eliminate all the things that will trigger an asthma attack. Still, panic asthma attacks can happen because anxiety and fear is pretty difficult to eliminate from your child’s life.

Medication for asthma is also the key. Be sure that you have visited the doctor and discussed with a specialist on how to manage your child’s asthma.

Our doctor and his medical team have worked wonders on helping with the disease. It is important to know what triggers your child’s asthma and also how to avoid them.
