Exercise can lead to breath shortness, coughing, wheezing and other problems in asthma patients and thus while planning for any exercise regime you should consult your doctor. The below given tips will also help you to plan your exercise while suffering from asthma.
Simple Tips to Exercise with Asthma
Go for Warm-Up exercise
Always warm up before starting any type of exercise to make your body ready and also make sure that you have a cool down period after you finish your workout.
During cold weather conditions either perform your exercise indoors or always make sure to cover your mouth and nose with a scarf or a mask. Do not over exercise yourself and perform at the level that is comfortable.
Always listen to your body; in case the work out is making you too much tired take a break and resume after some time.
The symptoms of asthma can be triggered due to pollens so just take care that if you are exercising in the open, pick up a time when count of pollen is low that is generally in the morning.
Low Influence Cardiac Exercises
The low cardiac exercises are something like swimming, walking over a treadmill and biking. 30 minutes of daily exercises are recommended and later you can increase the time as you feel comfortable.
These types of exercises will help in strengthening of the muscles of the heart and it will also improve the functioning of the lungs. It helps in reducing the stress and will also help in the improvement of metabolism.

For people suffering from asthma, the resistance training can be good and this mainly includes working with exercise machines, weights etc. You can initially start with few exercises, which provides relief to the lower and the upper body. Try doing some Mild Yoga Backbends
Some yoga backbends can be right for the improvement of deep breathing, providing therapeutic stretching and also for reducing stress and the improvement of flexibility. A few yogic backbends such as Setu Bhandasana, Bhujangasana etc. will help in creating the space in lungs and upper back.
If you do Savasana, which is lying flat on your back, it will help in the betterment of the central nervous system. Make sure to avoid heated practice of Yoga or power yoga as they might encourage a lot of other asthmatic symptoms.
